School of Theology 2007

On 16 Apr 07, I embarked on one of the most exciting journeys in my life. This journey will last me for the next four and a half months. Yes, after much consideration and struggling, I finally enrolled myself in SOT this year. Everything started with a call from Steven (my cell group leader) in Mar 07. By then, the application for SOT had closed but it was extended so that more students could sign up for it. Although I had purposed in heart that I would enrol myself in SOT two years after I graduate from NUS but I did not take any action. In any case, the phone call changed my life. Steven spoke right into my life and because I was at the MRT when I took the phone call, I had to control my tears from falling...

Nevertheless, 16 Apr was the big day. It was orientation day. I reached Jurong West at 8am. Yes, it was really early since I leave in the east and I had to squeeze on the train with the students. I can't remember when was the last time I did it. Anyway, everyone's spirits was high and after registration, we proceeded to the main auditorium. We had a briefing and this year's enrolment was 469 students! It was a record. For the past twelve intakes, we had about 200 students or more, this was the first time it went beyond 400!

After the briefing, we started on the Amazing Race and we went to the places that was part of the church's history. So the journey took me from Jurong West to Chinese Garden to River Walk to Vivo City to Paya Lebar before ending at Marina South for a steamboat dinner. We were supposed to go to Simei and Expo too but my team didn't have enough time.

My fellow team mates in SOT: Max, Michelle, Carol and Valerie

My choir friends who are now my classmates! Michele, Kate and Helen.

The entire Team 6 at Marina South!

Michelle, my buddy in SOT! She's only 17 years old!

Our lovely ice kacang creation.

Anyway, I am into my second week in SOT now. Yes, it has been tiring - juggling work and school but I still look forward to it. Every new day is worth looking forward too and I am enjoying it.
